4 Places Brides, Grooms and Couples Need to Visit in Roanoke

Hi Friends, I thank you once again for coming to the wedding blog that I update a few times a week, I greatly appreciate each and everyone one of you that comes to learn about the wedding industry, help save money on their own wedding and to share with others my educational series too!

Today, I’m going to share with you 4 places that you need to visit before you make wedding decisions as these places will truly help you along the way, some will save you a few bucks, others will pamper you or your tummy in the process, but regardless, if you ‘ve never heard of or visited these places, please do!

Kupkakery Bakery

Located in the heart of Rocky Mount, my friend Desiree Smith has been turning up amazing wedding ‘kupkakes’ for the last several years. Many of her delicious treats feature things such as cream filling or jellies and each one she makes is truly unique and super yummy too!

I recommend the Andes candy cupcakes personally, but in any regard, her treats are large, very filling and you’ll have a great experience sampling them and meeting up with her. If you’ve already purchased a wedding cake, consider buying these as party favors for your guests or purchase some for a special treat for your wedding party on your wedding day. The Kupkakery Bakery is a true gem in the wedding industry here in SWVA.

Headquarters Barbershop

This small, yet personable barbershop is in the Crystal Springs part of Roanoke and the two ladies that run it know exactly how to treat grooms and men with their beards, mustaches and hair. I recently went there myself for a beard trimming and I was very pleased with the results.

They truly listen to your needs and they don’t rush what they’re doing in the process.

If you’re looking for a great treat for you and the men in your bridal party, I’d highly recommend you contact them and book them for the morning of your wedding.

Sure, there are plenty of barbers around the Roanoke Valley, but honestly, I’ve found very few that provide an experience that also gives you that personal touch without hurting the wallet in the process. I also got a straight razor style shave too with the hot towel and Melanie, the owner, did a wonderful job of making me look like a million bucks!

Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Flowers By Eddie

I’ve worked with Eddie for several years in the wedding industry and I can tell you that he’s great at what he does. Located in Vinton, Eddie and is staff offer a great selection of wedding centerpieces, bouquet’s and other wedding related décor.

The thing I like about Eddie is that he’s able to work within your budget to help create arrangements that help integrate the colors of your wedding into his pieces so everything will blend in when it comes time to have your big day.

He’s a person that pays attention to detail and I recommend that you setup an appointment with him to see what he can do for your wedding day! Flowers by Eddie has a shop in Vinton where you can meet with him in person and see examples of his work too.

Jolina Goad – Wedding Makeup Artist

Finally, if you get a chance, reach out to Jolina Goad here in Roanoke, she’s a professional wedding makeup artist. Her company, Jolina does Makeup is only one of two companies that I personally recommend in the entire valley.

Why is that?

Because she doesn’t just provide makeup, she pampers clients with a personal experience that keeps ladies coming back to her time and time again.  She offers many different makeup styles and she treats each client as if it were herself.

Sure, again there are many others in the region that can-do makeup services for your wedding day, but not everyone provides elevated services like she does. I’ve had the privilege to work with her over the years and she doesn’t come across as arrogant as some in the industry do.

If you want someone fun to work with that can provide you amazing services, she’s the one to connect with.

The Takeaway

Here’s the takeaway form these four vendors, each one offers their services but with they also provide something that couples are seeking, a great experience and these vendors go above and beyond the basics to truly help make you happy. And that speaks volumes compared to others around them, offer value-added services, a great experience and wonderful services or products.

And there you have it today my friends, four places I highly recommend you scoping out for your wedding day or wedding day prep.
